  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Additions

  • 1 cup chocolate chunks
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce store-bought or homemade
  • Sea salt for sprinkling

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

Mixing

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until combined.
  • Gently fold in chocolate chunks and half of the salted caramel sauce.

Baking

  • Use a cookie scoop or spoon to drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft.
  • Remove from the oven and drizzle the remaining salted caramel sauce over the warm cookies. Finish with a sprinkle of sea salt.

Cooling

  • Allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

Make the dough in advance and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
