  • 3-4 pounds chuck roast
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 1 jar (16 oz) pepperoncini peppers (including juice)
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • to taste optional Salt and pepper

Preparation

  • Start by patting your chuck roast dry with paper towels to help with browning.
  • Place the roast in the slow cooker and sprinkle the ranch seasoning and au jus gravy mix over the top.
  • Add the jar of pepperoncini peppers along with all the juice.
  • Top everything with a stick of butter.

Cooking

  • Cover the slow cooker and set it to low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
  • Once cooking time is complete, shred the roast with two forks right in the slow cooker.
  • Stir everything together and serve alongside mashed potatoes, rice, or in a sandwich.

Notes

Customize the recipe by adding carrots, potatoes, or mushrooms. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 days or frozen for 3 months.
