Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  • Remove the silver skin from the back of your ribs for improved tenderness. Use a paper towel for a better grip.

Mixing Sauce

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper until well combined.
  • Taste the sauce to ensure it's to your liking.

Coating Ribs

  • Place your ribs in a large baking dish and pour the honey garlic sauce over them.
  • Rub the sauce all over the ribs to ensure they are generously coated.

Baking Ribs

  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for about 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are fork-tender.

Finishing Touch

  • Remove the foil and turn on your broiler. Brush on more of the honey garlic sauce.
  • Broil for about 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbly and caramelized.

Garnishing and Serving

  • Sprinkle sesame seeds and green onions on top before serving.
  • Serve with your favorite sides such as coleslaw, baked beans, or salad.

Notes

Leftover sauces can be drizzled over rice or noodles. Use a sharp knife to cut the ribs into portions after cooking for easier serving.
