Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup Hennessy (or any good cognac)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish
  • Cooked rice or pasta for serving

Instructions

Sizzling Shrimp

  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add half of the butter. Wait for it to melt and start bubbling, then toss in the shrimp. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side until they turn pink and are just cooked through. Once done, remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Making the Sauce

  • In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and reduce the heat to medium. Toss in the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, but not burnt.
  • Carefully pour in the Hennessy and let it simmer for about 3 minutes, allowing the alcohol to cook off and the flavors to mingle.

Finishing Touches

  • Stir in the lemon juice and return the shrimp to the skillet. Toss everything together for a minute to coat the shrimp in that heavenly sauce.
  • Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve over rice or pasta.

Notes

You can use pre-peeled shrimp to save on prep time. Don’t rush the sauce; let it simmer to enhance the flavors. Customize with red pepper flakes for a bit of heat if desired.
