Ingredients

For the Cake

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs

For the Peanut Butter Filling

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Chocolate Topping

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream (optional for garnish)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.

Mix the Cake

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until well blended.
  • Pour the cake batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Create the Peanut Butter Filling

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, cream cheese, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

Assemble the Layers

  • Once the cake has cooled completely, spread the peanut butter filling evenly on top of the cake.

Make the Chocolate Topping

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips with the milk until smooth. Stir until no lumps remain.
  • Pour the chocolate over the peanut butter layer and spread evenly.

Chill and Serve

  • Let the cake chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  • Slice the cake and, if desired, top each piece with whipped cream.

Notes

Feel free to add ingredients like crushed peanuts or banana slices for extra flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
