  • 2 cups heavy cream Chill beforehand for best results.
  • 1 cup chocolate pudding Use your favorite brand.
  • 1 cup crushed chocolate wafer cookies Or your favorite chocolate cookies.
  • to taste Chocolate shavings For garnishing.

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Add half a cup of Baileys and whip until well combined.
  • In another bowl, take your heavy cream and whip it until soft peaks form.
  • Fold the whipped cream into your cream cheese mixture gently.
  • In your trifle dish, start layering: first a layer of crushed cookies, then the cream cheese mixture, followed by a scoop of chocolate pudding.
  • Repeat layers until filled, ending with whipped cream on top.
  • Refrigerate for at least two hours before serving.
  • Garnish with chocolate shavings before serving.

Notes

This trifle can be made ahead and stays fresh for up to three days in the fridge. Substitute Baileys with coffee-flavored syrup for a non-alcoholic version. Gluten-free adaptation available by swapping in gluten-free cookies.
