  • 4 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar for added sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg optional, for extra flavor
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted consider extra for enhanced flavor
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows the star ingredient
  • a pinch salt to balance sweetness

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Peel and cube sweet potatoes into bite-sized pieces for even cooking.
  • In your crockpot, combine the cubed sweet potatoes with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, melted butter, and a pinch of salt. Stir well to coat.

Cooking

  • Cover your crockpot and set it to low for 6 to 7 hours or high for about 3 to 4 hours.
  • About 15-30 minutes before serving, sprinkle mini marshmallows on top and cover again to let them melt and toast.

Serving

  • Once marshmallows are golden and sweet potatoes are fork-tender, serve them warm.

Notes

Consider adding chopped pecans or walnuts for a crunch. A dash of vanilla extract can enhance the flavor profile.
