Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the chopped cabbage and simmer for about 5 minutes until tender.
  • Drain the cabbage and gently squeeze to remove excess water. In a bowl, mix the cabbage with garlic powder, crumbled bacon, and heavy cream. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Butter a baking dish generously. Pour the cabbage mixture into the dish, and top with the shredded cheddar cheese.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving warm.

Notes

For added crunch, sprinkle panko breadcrumbs on top before baking. You can substitute bacon with crispy fried onions if needed, or add veggies like carrots or bell peppers for extra nutrition.
