  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil divided
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 bell peppers (any color), sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Cooked rice (for serving)

Preparation

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
  • Add the sliced flank steak and sear for about 3-4 minutes until browned, avoiding overcrowding the pan.
  • Toss in the onion, bell peppers, garlic, and ginger, stir-frying for another 2-3 minutes until vegetables are soft yet crunchy.
  • In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, black pepper, and sugar. Pour over beef and veggies, stir to combine, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and serve with fluffy rice.

Notes

Feel free to add other vegetables like broccoli or snap peas for variety. Keep an eye on cooking times if substituting flank steak with other cuts of beef.
