Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, sliced thinly against the grain You can substitute with chicken breast or tofu.
  • 1 cup green beans, trimmed
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced (button or cremini work great)

Sauces and Seasonings

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Substitutes include tamari or coconut aminos.
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch Used for marinating the beef.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper, freshly ground (or to taste) Adjust based on spice preference.

Aromatics

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, minced Adds freshness and zing.

Optional Add-ins

  • sliced onions or red bell peppers For an extra color boost!

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes.
  • While the beef is marinating, chop the green beans and mushrooms. If desired, add onions and bell peppers.

Cooking

  • Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add the vegetable oil. Once hot, add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned.
  • Remove the beef from the pan and add garlic and ginger, followed by the green beans and mushrooms. Stir-fry for about 5 minutes until the veggies start to soften.
  • Toss the beef back into the pan with the veggies, sprinkle with black pepper, and stir for an additional 1-2 minutes to meld the flavors.
  • Plate the stir-fry and garnish with green onions if desired. Serve with rice or noodles.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat in a pan for the best texture. Don't hesitate to substitute any veggies you have on hand.
