  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast That's one packet for all you measuring wizards!
  • 1 ½ cups warm water Think cozy bath temperature.
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour Plus extra for dusting.
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Extra virgin if you're feeling fancy!
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes.
  • Add in the olive oil, flour, and salt. Mix until the dough comes together.
  • Transfer your dough to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise for an hour or until it doubles in size.
  • Once risen, punch the dough down gently and divide it into two or three equal portions.
  • Roll each piece out on a floured surface into your desired shape.
  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven.
  • Load your rolled dough with sauce, toppings, and cheese.
  • Bake for about 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.

Notes

For the best results, avoid overdoing the toppings to prevent a soggy pizza. You can store leftover dough in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Don't hesitate to get creative with your pizza toppings, including dessert pizzas!
