  • 1 tablespoon butter (softened) For spreading on the bread

  • 1 medium apple (thinly sliced; Granny Smith or Honeycrisp) Adds a sweet crunch
  • 1 teaspoon honey Optional, for extra sweetness

Preparation

  • Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
  • On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer your brie cheese generously.
  • Layer on the thin apple slices, covering the cheese surface. Drizzle with honey if desired.
  • Sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon on top.
  • Place the other slice of bread on top, buttered side up.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and place the sandwich in the pan.
  • Cook until the bread is golden brown (about 3-4 minutes). Carefully flip and repeat until the other side is golden and the cheese has melted.
  • Let the sandwich rest for a minute before slicing to prevent the cheese from spilling.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with other soft cheeses like camembert or goat cheese. A thicker crusty bread works best to hold the fillings.
