Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups white sugar 1 ½ cups for mixing, ¾ cup for decoration (optional)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract

Decoration (Optional)

  • ¾ cup white sugar for decoration Optional

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another large bowl, blend the softened butter and 1 ½ cups of sugar until fluffy.
  • Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract, stirring until fully combined.
  • Gradually add the dry mix to the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined.
  • Use a cookie scoop or a tablespoon to drop rounded balls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Roll in the extra sugar if desired.

Baking

  • Bake for about 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are golden.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks.

Notes

For extra crispy edges, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Customize with sprinkles or chocolate chips.
